
2 Recipes: Concentrated Orange Juice
Ingredients
Three kilos of oranges
Two and a half cups of sugar
Five glasses of water
Method
- Wash the oranges well, then squeeze.
- Put the water and sugar in a saucepan on the stove until it starts to boil.
- Add to orange juice to have a thick mixture.
- Leave the pot to cool, then put in a bottle-with-stopper and put in the refrigerator.
- Note: This recipe is enough for one to ten people, and this method is often used to store orange juice in Ramadan and other times.
Concentrated Orange Juice with Lemon Recipe
Ingredients
One and a half kilos of oranges
1 large lemon
Two and a half cups of sugar
Method
- We wash the oranges and lemons use a grater for zesting the oranges and a lemon, then set aside the zest
- Cut the oranges and a lemon from the middle, then squeeze them and put the juice of each in a separate cup or bowl, add the orange zest to the orange juice, and add the lemon zest to the lemon juice
- We put the orange juice over medium heat and add the sugar to combine with constant stirring
- When the mixture boils, add lemon juice, while continuing to stir
- Leave the mixture over medium heat to boil for five minutes, then strain the juice
- Leave it to cool, then pour the juice in a bottle-with-stopper, and put it in the refrigerator until it cools, then it is ready to serve
