How to make pineapple jam recipe
Ingredients:
1 Large pineapple, peeled and chopped, or canned pineapple
4 Cups of sugar, or to taste
5 Cups of water
Quarter cup of fresh lemon juice
Yellow food color (to taste)
Method:
- Place the pineapple with water and lemon juice in a large deep saucepan over medium heat, then bring to a boil.
- Leave the mixture to boil for one hour or until the pineapple becomes soft.
- Add the sugar and food coloring with continuous stirring and leave the mixture to boil for 45 minutes or until the jam becomes thick.
- Leave the jam to cool down, then place the jam in clean, tightly closed jars and store in the refrigerator.
NB:
Each cup of chopped pineapple requires 1 cup of sugar.
