Pomegranate molasses is a syrup-like reduction of pomegranate juice with sweet and sour flavor, and it is a deep reddish purple. Pomegranate molasses sauce has so many uses as it’s used as an ingredient in the preserved food and it helps heal mouth and gum. We add it to the food as it imparts a tart-sweet flavor. It also helps making food digestion easier, and prevents of gout and the formation of kidney stones. It is used in the Middle East ” Arab countries”, Armenia, India and Georgia as an essential ingredient to impart a great flavor and special color.

How to Make Pomegranate Molasses Sauce Recipe at Home

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of fresh pomegranate juice
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/3 cup of fresh lemon juice

Easy Way to Make Healthy Pomegranate Molasses Sauce Recipe at Home

Method:

Step 1- Mix the three ingredients in a saucepan

Step 2- Stir continuously over low heat until sugar dissolves. Simmer it for 60-80 minutes and stir them every 10 minutes till the amount of liquid has been boiled down to about one cup or so.

Step 3- Once the liquid becomes sauce, test it by dipping the spoon in. If a deep reddish purple sauce coats the spoon, your molasses is done! Do not overcook it not to be turned into a very thick and stiff liquid when cooling.

Step 4- Remove the saucepan from heat and you’ll find that you end up with about 1 or 1 1/4 cup as a maximum. If you found it more than that, cook it for a while again. Let the molasses cool then store it in airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for four weeks.

Now, you have prepared your Pomegranate molasses!
