2 Homemade Recipes for Berry Juice (Morus nigra or Blackberry)

Blackberry Juice Recipe

The whole types of berry contain cancer-fighting plant nutrients. But blackberry, in particular, contains a very high concentration of phytochemicals that called Anthocyanins. It helps fighting colon cancer, esophageal cancer, and melanoma (skin cancer).

Berries also contain a large amount of mineral salts such as phosphate, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, copper, manganese and Sulphur. So that it’s an excellent source of mineral salts. Berries also contain Vitamins like A, B, and C, as well as protein, fat, carbohydrates and citric acid.  Caloric value per 100gm of berries is about 7.5 calories. Eating berries also is very good for those who suffer from anemia. In the medical field, they add berries to medicines to give them the color and to improve their taste as it has a good taste. Berry juice is very known and it’s considered an essential drink in Ramdan in Arab countries.


DIY Berry Juice:


  • One cup of milk
  • One cup and half of the berries
  • 2 tbsps of sugar


Mix the whole ingredients in the blender and serve the juice in a cup.

How to Make Morus nigra Juice Recipe


  • 1 kg of blackberry
  • Sugar (one cup of sugar for each one cup of juice), or as desired

DIY Morus nigra (Blackberry) Juice Recipe:


Step 1- Put berries in the blender for two minutes

Step 2- Pour the mix in a cheesecloth and drain it well.

Step 3- Heat the drained juice with the sugar

Step 4- Bring it to a boil over a medium heat for 15 minutes

Step 5- Remove it from heat to be cold, then pour it in a glassy bowl and keep it in refrigerator

Step 6- For serving, fill 1/3 of the cup with juice and the rest 2/3 of the cup with water
