DIY Fattet Hummus Recipe
Fatta chickpeas is one of the famous cuisine in the Levant, especially in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan.
Hummus Fattah in the Levant is served as a family breakfast, special for holidays and events, or served as an appetizer with basic meals.
There are many ways to make a Fattet Hummus Recipe, and they vary from country to country and even from city to city. It is a very rich meal with many vitamins and minerals such as calcium and magnesium as well as fibers and proteins.
Fattet Hummus with Meat Recipe
– 4 loaves of “small size” bread, cut into small squares
– a can of chickpeas or (250 grams chopped chickpeas, boiled)
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 lemon juice
One chilli and chopped
Half a cup of tahini
Half a cup of water
– Quarter of a kilo of chopped veal (optional)
Half cup of olive oil, or as needed;
1 teaspoon of crushed garlic

– Two spoons of nuts
– Salt, to taste.

Second: Cook the meat
We put the pot on the fire and add 4 tablespoons of olive oil in the pot over medium heat, and after the oil is heated we add the sliced meat seasoned with salt and pepper and stir it directly and after two minutes we reduce the heat to simmer the meat over a low heat.
After the meat is done, add the nuts and stir for two or three minutes, then put the meat aside.
How to Prepare Fattet Hummus Recipe:
First: Put the squares bread in a tray, and put them in the oven until the bread gets crispy.. After taking the bread out of the oven, put it in a large plate, and add some hot water. and leave it for 2 minutes until the bread absorbs the water.
Second: Add the amount of chickpeas to the bread and mix them together.
Third: Put the meat, nuts and parsley, and the dish is ready to serve.

Hummus Fatteh with Yogurt
2 cup boiled chickpeas
4 loaves of Arabic bread, cut into cubes
1 cup of yogurt
½ cup roasted pine
3 crushed garlic cloves
½ teaspoon ground cumin
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
4 tbsp tahini
75 milligrams of margarine or a quarter cup of oil
Salt, to taste
Place the pieces of bread in a tray, and put them in the oven until roasted and gets the golden in color.
In a saucepan over the heat, put the chickpeas with 2 cups of water, leave the mixture for 15 minutes as the chickpeas absorb most of the water, then add salt and remove the pot from the heat.
Spread the bottom of the serving plate with bread , then spread the hot chickpeas over them, followed by the yogurt mixture.
Heat ghee and add it over the yogurt mixture.
For decoration: decorate the recipe with pine nuts and some chopped parsley, serve with extra crispy bread.
