Homemade Fresh Fig Jam Recipe

How to make fig jam?



One kilo of sugar
One kilo of figs
One cup of lemon juice
A quarter teaspoon of ground cloves


How to prepare fig jam?



1- Wash the figs well, then cut them into small pieces.

2- Mix the sugar with the chopped figs and leave it for 2 to 4 hours until the figs absorb the sugar well.

3- Bring a deep and large saucepan, put the figs with sugar in it, and place the saucepan over medium heat.

4- Leave the mixture on the fire until you are sure that the sugar and figs have completely dissolved, and take care to remove the foam layer formed on the face from time to time.

5- Add lemon juice and stir well from time to time.

6- Make sure that the mixture is well homogenized, to obtain a thick consistency for the jam, and wait until it is well cooked.

7- Leave the jam aside until it cools down, then bring the jars that are tightly closed, clean and dry well.

8- You must use a wooden spoon, not a metal spoon, so that it does not interact with the melted sugar or any of the ingredients, and you get a better taste.

9- Dry the spoon that you will use to pour the jam into the jars, so as not to cause the jam to become moldy.

10- Close the jars well and store them in the refrigerator until they are used for any purpose.
