How to Make Kofta with Tahini and Potatoes
Kofta with tahini is one of the most famous and delicious dishes in the Levant countries (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Jordan), and it is considered one of the main recipes that are easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Kofta: half a kilo (minced meat with parsley and onions)
Cardamom: half a teaspoon (crushed)
Black pepper: half a teaspoon
Cinnamon: a quarter of a teaspoon (ground)
Salt: half a teaspoon
Starch: a tablespoon
Potatoes: 4 grains (peeled and cubed)
Tahini: a cup and a half (tahini sauce)
Water: two cups
Yogurt: 3 tablespoons
Lemon juice: quarter cup of lemon juice
Salt: half a teaspoon
Method:
- Mix the kofta with the spices, starch and salt, then form medium-sized fingers from it.
- Arrange the kofta on a tray greased with a little oil and roast for 20 minutes, stirring, then remove from the oven.
- Fry or roast the potato cubes, brushing them with a little oil, as desired, and set them aside.
- Mix the tahini sauce with the yogurt with a hand whisk, then add the water, lemon juice and salt, while continuing to stir until we get a thick and liquid sauce.
- We put the grilled kofta in the oven tray, arrange the potatoes on top, then pour the prepared tahini sauce over it and put it in the oven on high heat until the sauce boils, then reduce the heat and leave to roast for 30 minutes or until it is cooked.
- Roast the tray face before serving and serve alongside rice with vermicelli.
